Blogging after a long respite uh ah!! I am very convinced that only a stable mind can blog and for the same reason i want to see as many entries in this blog roll. I dont know why I have succumbed to the pressure once again spoiling my regular activities. Partly its attributed to the way my project is being managed and I should be convicted of the rest.

In my part I should take care of the health for its that culprit which kept me bogged down these days. Now I have control of my job and I am going through my heydays of my professional life. Unfortunately I couldnt spend much time there because of my fast approaching GRE.

The Departed

Despite my anathema for action movies,this flick found way to my collection because of its great elan and making.

Though Ananth used to apprise about Martin Scorces and his mob movies,I never found it interesting except this flick.Let me take you through my jaunt with this movie.

The very first opening words in the background corroborates that its going to be yet another gangster movie;however the difference here is instead of Robert-de-Nero who have the indulgent Jack Nicholson dressed up for the don role.

The movie starts with a voice over in the streets of Boston,

“I dont want to be a product of environment;I wanted it to be a product of mine”.

Yet another one saying that,” when the Irish men didn’t like something we had churches and twenty years later that when the Irish men didn’t like churches we had presidency” .

So that words perfectly expostulates the environment formula Costello was referring to in his earlier sentences.

Be it a mob or a military training or a camp for the terrorists , you will have a person motivating the whole gang towards the mission. Here too the preparations begins long before the story is set. Costello the under world don prepares his rat in to the state police .

He makes the journey seem legitimate to the altar boy by saying that there is no difference between a cop or criminal when he faces a loded gun. Also the motivation is visible in his words,”When you wanted to be something you can always be it”. So here grows fin in to the Maschuttes state police.

Dash corner goes online -DC -0050

I have always wanted to do atleast one dash corner a day from the day i named it so. That was primarily to realize and put forth the truth behind the Peerless Incs philosophy “SMALL IS BIG”. But sadly I have hardly did 30 dash corners in the last 180 days.

My GRE is fast approaching and it needs at least 50 more dash corners to make me prepared for the D-DAY. So starting today I have decided to use this space instead of just a word file;This move should create a sense of responsiblity.

And I need to count 50;So lets start the count upside down.

A high level conference to address Isralei-Palestaninan is planned at Annapolis next week as a result of the efforts taken by Bush-Rice.America doesnt have full support from the arab world for the effort.Even though the Arab leaders lack confidence on Americas capability to solve the issue,they are inclined to the meet looking for a implausible settlement.The conference should aim to document the agenda and the time frame for the coming years.For this to happen Bush administration should  come up with a post-conference strategy.

Now peerless dashes with ???? (Since no one else is there is peerless Vs Savant)

Savant is a student of peerless gearing up for the GRE!

Peerless : First whats the primary purpose of the passage?

Savant: Primary purpose..uh ah it should be in the first paragrapah.. Its about the Annapolis conference

Peerless: Good..But in your GRE all the five choices would be something about it.

Savant:The passage analyses the difficulty America has been facing to put the show up…But the opening and the conclusion is more concerned about what has to be done in and after the conference.So I would say the purpose of the passage was to elaborate what has to be  done in effects of the conference.

Okay Savant thats evident in the title of the speech.Thats enough for the day. Read it aloud once and complete the dash . Its time for quants.

Peerless after Diwali

I would love to write on my on sweetest journey to and from home,but I guess that I wont find time for it. Diwali was so different this year since I never felt as if that day was meant to be Diwali. I remember when I was young we use to count down to the day atleast from  a month. When I grew a bit (Higher Secondary or so  ) TV become the main attention apart from crackers;I used to have a schedule for the best shows and movies and will catch up with all the bests.While at college I dont remember exactly how I approached it. Atleast last year I had did some shopping but this year its just a day OFF… thats it! No more fascinations..expectations..No more !!

I think there are two categories of people… the kids who enjoy themselves and the elder generations who become elated to see and keep their younger ones excited. I am in between the two and hence it seems to be a  NIL feelings Diwali.

Else that might be because of my excessive concentration to fast approaching GRE. Any how I am not for just marking a day and making people get lot of debts for it.

After Diwali I had hard time with my systems.So I should I ensure

back ups within this week. My day at work seems to be fastened ; I love it in a way unless it disturbs my GRE.Froward has come close to embedded ..Thats happy news since he will excavate lot of things for me.

I have stopped critical reading and WSN threads till GRE. Tests with Jaypee are serving good. Would like to continue it till exams and make a difference in the tests.Today I am going to office early to finish the frame work and get things going.

Atlast I will have some hands on experience in IPC’s mutex,sockets…..boooh uhhhh Deepak gets in to embedded

OOPS! I failed to manage time

After a long time I got slots for my project-3 “Get to the point”.Before a long time I have thought to speak about blogging;But since I had tasted some success with my time management methods, I got tilted towards it.

Preparations:

I have always wanted to prepare my speeches atleast one week in advance.But I failed to keep up with that aim and I started collecting quotes only two days before the meet. I sat for the script on thursday night.(This week I have been very clumsy…. :(…).

The clock stuck eleven when I started my prepartion;I got imbibed in it and enjoyed each and every minute of the preparation. In 10 minutes I have decided the structure and it took me 40 minutes to sette down with the introduction. Since introduction should have a personal touch and ear catcher(eye catcher is a misnomer and I have been using it for a long time…thanks to Nina Mam for giving this phrase:)). I have considered almost 5 introductions and settled with an eclectic choice of humour filled introduction.(I missed to bring out the humour at real time…).

I had no difficulty in carving the body since it’s from my own experience. Once I typed it I did some re-arrangements and in two hours time I have prepared a script which looked good since I have placed ample challenges for all my weak traits.(Voice modulation,effective pausing.)

I thought of rehearsing it unfortunately it took me another thirty minutes to reduce the introduction from 2.5 minutes to 1.5 minutes. So i didnt practise it in full swing,just read it aloud and it took me nearly 8 minutes.Since I have already lost about 2 hours of my sleep I preferred to continue the preparations in my dreams 🙂

My lesson 1 with toastmasters is to prepare for six minutes and present it in seven minutes. But I betrayed it and hence faced the repercussions.

I left early from office to make a good rehearsal at home. I reached my room by five but felt very jagged and low in confidence mainly because of loosing a considerable amount of sleep last night (Yet another betrayed rule of Peerless Inc.!)

Some how I made some rehearsals but it doesnt please me.When I was about to start karthick rang me up and expressed his wish to come to the meet. It was already six by that time anyhow prefered to go late rather than turning down his interest.

Performance:

The prepared speeches were on when I entered the hall; Ravi was my evaluator(peerless choice!) .When it was my turn i got slided away from the track right from the first word. I gave a plain introduction(OOPS thats enough to bring my confidence down ..I have almost worked about an hour for this one minute and how in earth I can err !!!)

I missed all my strengths in the speech. I missed out on the voice modulation which I considered very vital to the take the message to all the ears around.Though I messed up with all those things I managed to make quick transitions to cover all the five points I have planned. When the green flag was on I was in my third.Somehow I managed to cover up the fifth point and turn it as a conclusion (I started starving for words when the red flag was up.) I was curiouson giving it a completed speech look though I am incomplete. (Of course I have succeeded )

I was very much dejected since I failed at almost 90% of my personal goals associated with my speech. I will repeat this project.I am very proud to be a toastmaster. In my second project I have explored about sleep which regularised my irregular sleeping habits and now its time. And every time I complete a project I add to my repository a topic to speak with confidence .

My mistakes:

1.I should have had enough sleep and enabled myself to be frolic and on time.

2.I must ensure enough rehearsals and should prepare the speech for 6 minutes.

3.Must get it reviewed from senior toastmasters and mentors so that there will be a remarkable improvement in its quality.

These are the things I swear to do before my next speech. I will write a separate post on the proceeding’s of the meet.
